Skye Stories Volume 2: the Road to Uig continues the true account of a young man who moved away from his family home in Glasgow to spend his teenage years on Skye. Told in anecdotes and poems this book captures what it was like for a city boy growing up in a beautiful – but very different – environment. Although the threat of having to return to Glasgow was ever present the most important things in our hero's life were music, friends, fun and trying to find love. Although both Skye Stories Volume 1 and 2 are about Skye and his love for the island, the account of his experiences and emotions will strike a chord with people who have never been near there. Skye changed the author's life forever and for the better. You could say the Isle of Skye saved his life.
